LASERI – Lasten sepelvaltimotaudin riskitekijät -tutkimus

LASERI on jo yli 30 vuotta kestänyt seurantatutkimus. Aineistoa on kerätty vuosina 1980, 1983, 1986, 1989, 1992, 2001, 2007 ja 2011.

Tutkimuksen päätavoitteena on tutkia lapsuuden elintapojen, biologisten ja psykologisten vaaratekijöiden sekä perimän merkitystä valtimotautien sairastumisriskiin aikuisena. Tarkempia tietoja tutkimuskokonaisuudesta löytyy LASERI:n verkkosivuilta.

Tutkimusta koordinoidaan Turun yliopistossa, ja mukana ovat myös Helsingin, Oulun, Kuopion, Tampereen ja Jyväskylän yliopistot sekä LIKES-tutkimuskeskus.

LASERI-tutkimukseen liittyen LIKESin roolina on selvittää, miten liikunta ja liikuntaan liittyvät psykologiset, sosiaaliset ja ympäristötekijät 9–18 vuoden iässä selittävät liikunta-aktiivisuutta ja riskitekijöitä suhteessa aikuisiän selittäviin tekijöihin.
