MORE research project focuses on ethical decision-making and management in Finnish elite sport organisations. Researchers explore, for instance, what kind of ethical challenges decision-makers face in their tasks and how they solve them. The methods include both qualitative and quantitative approaches: researchers interview decision-makers in Finnish elite sport organisations and conduct surveys.
The scientific aim is to increase understanding of ethical issues in elite sports organisations. Practical goal is to promote responsible management by increasing transparency and awareness of ethics in sport organisations. The results will be available to sport organisations and public in easily understandable format.
The project started in spring 2016, and it lasts three years. The Ministry of Education and Culture funds the project.
The MORE project is conducted as collaboration with two institutional actors: Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) and LIKES Research Centre for Physical Activity and Health (LIKES). The project leader is Marjo Siltaoja (JSBE), and researchers are Suvi Heikkinen (JSBE), Elina Riivari (JSBE) and Mika Hämäläinen (LIKES).
