Insufficient physical activity as a lifestyle

About 35 to 40 % of the Finnish adults fail to meet the recommended level of physical activity in order to maintain their health. The reasons for insufficient physical activity levels among adults have not been specified in detail in previous studies. There have been only a few studies with regards initiating inactive people to a permanently physically active lifestyle.

The purpose of this study is to determine reasons of low physical activity levels among adult groups, and investigate how barriers could be reduced. This study will produce information on reasons of inactivity, and provide tools for improving physical activity levels among inactive people.
