Research and development
Our research and development projects offer scientific and practical information in order to enhance physical activity.

Physical activity across the life course
We conduct research on physical activity across the life course. We aim to identify the determinants of physical activity, inactivity and sedentary behavior, and to provide solutions to increase physical activity and decrease sedentary behaviour. The effects of physical activity and sedentary behaviour on wellbeing, health and other factors are examined during the life course.
Wellbeing and learning
Physical activity is connected to wellbeing and health in many ways. In recent years, research has found that physical activity and fitness may positively affect learning, cognitive functions and brain health. We provide support for integrating physical activity into academic lessons in ways that support learning.
Evaluation research and strategic information
The aim of our evaluation research and strategic information is to support decision-making. We conduct research, follow-up and evaluation in order to increase understanding on the structures and operational cultures that affect physical activity. Many of these structures are invisible and taken for granted.
